#1804: It Will Evaporate

Life is fleeting and time online makes it seem even more so.
I’m paradoxically asking you to log on in order to spend some time logged out.
Vintage punk, garage and soul meld with some neo-grunge and stoner rock to lift you outta the daily swamp runoff from the internet.

Get lifted.

#1803: All The Love That I’m Giving

Love is often intense, messed up, wonderful, unforgettable, complicated.
That’s not today’s theme per se but it’s the theme of 95% of all songs so close enough.

#1801: Punching A Hole

Welcome to 2018!
Everyone has so many plans, predictions, resolutions and such that it’s easy to feel hemmed in. Like you’re in a corral with nowhere to go. As it is with all the good innovators, though, you have to take a look to either side. Look up and down. Find the weakest point and plow right through.

Here’s a list of weirdos, psychos, rabble rousers and loud motherfuckers. Here’s to a new and better year.

Vintage and modern wildness plus brand new tracks from King Gizzard, Black Delta Movement, Korto, The Men and more.

#1728: Even With The Pills

Feeling a little stressed?  The pills ain’t gonna help, not really.  Let’s get the aural fix.  The musical solution.

Among other things, we’ve got fresh releases from Dustin Lovelis, Beck, Queens of the Stone Age, Porno Wolves and some serious vintage riffery.

Good luck out there.  Keep your head up.

#1725: Face The Day

As my own summer vacation wraps up it’s time to look back through the last few weeks and see what I’m left with, music-wise. Leftovers from the Freelance Fiend events, new releases and reissues of some serious classics are the pool that this week’s episode draws from. All-vinyl, good for a hot day in a strange summer! Stay cool out there…

#1720: Lord Of Garbage

“This isn’t about what is . . . it’s about what people think is. It’s all imaginary anyway. That’s why it’s important. People only fight over imaginary things.” – Neil Gaiman

#1719: Switch Opens

A rough week for losses in the rock world. This week has a bit of a country & blues tinge to it in honor of the late Gregg Allman and also a highlight of the bands playing this week’s Chris Cornell tribute brought to you by Rocker Stalker and myself (info below.) Still plenty of garage and psych nuggets for you to sink in to. Have a great week and keep it LOUD.

#1716: Riff Raff

It’s been another busy week and here in NYC spring has hit a cool spot, ie we’re stuck at 60 degrees and below. It’s throwing people off, it seems, and the vibe has been a little…wild?

That’s the mood going in to this week’s mix, an all-vinyl amalgam cobbled together from the WFMU record fair, BOMP records mail-order and some neglected piles already in my collection (plus a slightly tipsy tape echo). Reflections on feeling rough and how that’s okay, and stepping up despite the trouble everywhere you look. Perhaps this set can help you revive, reset, or rekindle some fighting spirit to keep pushing on til the weather clears.

#1711: New You

Back on track finally after being too sick to put a show together last week, and as I had to recover slowly this episode starts out a little mellow and then builds up to the full cacophony. New music from The Falling Birds, Elkhorn and White Hills and all the vintage gold you don’t know you love yet. Thanks for hanging with me, hope you dig the tunes!

Remember, next week there’s a lot happening:
– Sunday April 9th, Old Time Religion takes over KPISS.fm in Bushwick for an extended special, 3-7pm EST

-Monday April 10th, I’ll be guest-hosting The Rodent Hour with special guests Cinema Cinema 8pm EST on Radio Free Brooklyn.

-Tuesday April 11th, Brand new episode on Affinity Radio 5pm EST/10pm UK
