#1702: Turbulence

Well, it finally happened.  As Inauguration Day came and went, millions took to the streets to voice their outrage/agreement/dissent/much more…

It’s no secret which side I come down on when it comes to our current climate in the U.S. but support for a particular party doesn’t change the fact that we’re all in this together.  Seeing so many folks out in the streets, even if I don’t agree with all of them, gives me hope for our future.

As for the music, today we have what you’ve come to expect from me since the election:  A mix of vintage rockers, sweet soul music, modern psychedelia, and punk rockers carrying the torch into the next four years.  Snuck a new King Gizzard track in there, too.

Musical therapy. Aural catharsis.  Call it what you want but there’s something for everyone, and it’s dedicated to every pair of feet that hit pavement this week for what they believe in.   Let’s keep it up, we’ll need to.

Special mentions to the great bands I was lucky enough to see playing their hearts out in opposition to Trump this weekend.  One was my guest from last week Sun Abduction, and I had a lot of fun hearing sets from Heavy Traffic, The Royal They, and Garbage Brain.  More from them on next week’s show.

Get into trouble, but the good kind.  Good luck.
