#1646: I Get High On You

Maybe it was growing up with gospel music, but soul music has always had a way of reaching a deep place and moving me. I imagine it’s the same for many which explains why soul has remained popular and relevant for over 50 years .

I’m not a big traditional christmas guy myself (15 years in retail leaves you with a pointed hatred for xmas music) so as we approach the holiday I’ve gathered some tunes that bring their own joy. Gathered here are many of the greats of soul and funk, with some that may have passed under your radar thus far.

Whether you’re in the kitchen cooking for tonight’s celebrations or in the car on the way to see family, these songs will reach down and grab your heart and your hips. Happy Holidays!
